bodymind
synergy - What's in the name?
I
use the word bodymind, to describe body and mind as an
inseparable and functional unity.
When you are physically tired and stressed, or in ill
health, you do not make your best decisions, or respond to
others as well as you can do when you are feeling relaxed,
energised, and in good health.
When your body is more flexible and relaxed, so too are
your thoughts and emotions, and your capability for mental,
and emotional, flexibility, and creativity, increases.
In other words, the state of your body is reflected in, and
affects, your thinking, and your emotional responses. Just
as your thoughts and emotions are reflected in, and affect,
your posture, and your other physical responses.
Chinese Medicine excels (amongst other things), at
articulating in detail, the many and varied connections,
between physical, mental, and emotional, functioning and
health. Meaningfully interacting with those connections,
between mind, body, emotions, thoughts, and energy, is
central to each of the therapies I offer.
It is that shared characteristic between all of the
therapeutic approaches I offer that makes it possible for
me to creatively, and productively integrate these
different approaches, in whichever ways will most usefully
help you realise your treatment goals.
Integrate
• To unite what is disconnected forming a new, and more
functionally capable whole.
